Nate Barker

Research Fellow, Global Health & Wellbeing Cause Prioritization

Nate joined Coefficient Giving in September 2026. He works on the Cause Prioritization Team with a focus on New Areas. Previously he worked at the Global Poverty Research Lab, Northwestern University. He has also worked for Innovations for Poverty Action in Ghana and the US, and for The Boma Project in Kenya.

Nate holds a BSFS in International Economics from Georgetown University along with a Master’s and PhD in Economics from Yale University. His academic research has evaluated programs and policies to increase incomes in the Global South, including a job search program in Kenya, asset transfer “graduation” programs in Ghana and Ethiopia, government-intermediated migration from Bangladesh to Malaysia, and cognitive behavioral therapy in Ghana.
