Elbert joined Coefficient Giving in April 2026. Before Coefficient Giving, he was at Vox.com, where he most recently served as executive editor, running day-to-day coverage and setting broader editorial strategy. At Vox, he was also the founding editor of Future Perfect, a section focused on finding the best ways to do good. He has a BA in English Literature and Political Science from Brown University and an MA in Media and Public Affairs from The George Washington University.
