About the Fund
GiveWell’s recommended charities have a strong track record and excellent cost-effectiveness, can use additional funding to expand their core programs, and are exceptionally transparent.
GiveWell is a nonprofit dedicated to finding outstanding giving opportunities and publishing its full analysis to help donors decide where to give. Open Philanthropy was originally incubated as part of GiveWell. GiveWell’s top charities represent the best opportunities we’re aware of to help low-income people with relatively high confidence and relatively short time horizons. These charities implement programs that avert deaths and reduce poverty. You can learn more about GiveWell’s top charities.
